In no particular order…
- To be tickled a little, but not to where it’s not fun anymore.
- To really be talked to, not become the confusing butt of a joke for all the adults standing around.
- To be seen and heard, not always dismissed.
- To be identified by uplifting, affirming praise before others. “Hey Uncle John, let me tell you about this boy. This boy loves to serve others.”
- To be given very clear boundaries.
- Adults who enter into their imaginary realms.
- Candy.
This adult likes all the same things, but maybe that means I’m just still a kid.
Candy rotates on levels of importance for my boys, but uplifting affirming praise is always at the top. Fun list.
