  1. Dear Mr. S.D.Smith
I really liked Ember Rising, though the cover is misleading.
After I finished reading it, I got out Ember Falls to read Heather’s dream again.
    Nice… [SPOILER REMOVED] 🙂
    Can’t wait for book four.
    In Christ,
    Heather McDaniels

  2. I just devoured Ember Rising and it is going to be so hard to wait for the next book! Today I am just basking in the very satisfied feeling of … the rising! But tomorrow? I start pacing in anticipation of the next book! Thank you for weaving a thoughtful, uplifting, and totally engaging tale for young and old alike!

  3. Love the green ember books and waiting impatiently for number four. I won’t tell you to hurry up, because nobody does well under pressure and I’d rather it be good than rushed. SPOILER ALERT
thank you for bringing back smalls because he was just about my favorite character…for a minute after I read number two I thought you were one of those cruel authurs that kill of their main characters at the end of the very last book…it was almost worse than Bridge To Terabethia. Ps. Please don’t kill off Jo or Cole

  4. My mom reads this series out loud to us at breakfast. When she first pulled it out, my twin sister and I were like, “Really, Mom? Bunnies? We’re teenagers!” But by the end of the first few chapters, the four of us (and my mom) were on the edges of our seats absolutely freaking out! Even my dad got into it. He cried when he thought Helmer had died in Ember Rising!
When Ember Falls came out, my mom was shopping and looked at the blog. She called my dad and told him to tell us. We were all on the trampoline outside…and when we got the news, our neighborhood heard a very long round of screaming, cheering, and the sounds of an about-to-break trampoline! I was so upset over Ember Falls. I cried a little over the death of my favorite character (Smalls.)
My mom read a single chapter aloud every day…except for one. She peeked at the ending of Ember Rising one Tuesday while we were homeschooling. Her eyes got huge, and she sat down on the couch. “I have to read this,” she said.
She read for three hours straight until we finished the book. It was awesome! Your series is so well-written. I’m a writer, myself, and I can’t find a single plothole or writing error. I am currently perusing the dream sequences, trying to glean clues.
And the ending of Ember Rising…I cried.
    A lot.

    God Bless,

    Emi
