Wow! I never get tired of these Green Ember stories, and this one was no different. It had an engaging plot with well-written characters, and an unbelievable plot twist at the end…The Green Ember is also a good story with actually good moral lessons, something that is lost in so many stories today. The Green Ember truly is a new story with an old soul. My copy came in the mail along with a bookmark that says “get lost in stories that won’t get you lost.” I love that. I cannot wait for the final book in this Lost Tales series!

It Is one of my favorites. Definitely the best side series books so far! I love all the little detail, details and connections to other books. Getting lost in these stories for hours is amazing. And I can’t wait for the third lost tales! Green Ember has always been my favorite Book series, Because of S.D.Smith’s writing and the amazing story he tells.l!

I had the honor of meeting S. D. Smith a few weeks ago and got his new book signed in person (with a blue Sharpie XD)! I can but can’t wait for more Green Ember books! (And it’s a weird feeling when you see a picture where you were standing to the side and watching it being taken XD! (To clarify, I am not in it, but I was watching it being taken:)
We bought it the second we could, and after a coin flip to decide who got to read it first, both of our kids have read it and loved it! We are also excited to begin our Green Ember read-aloud summer and introduce our youngest to Heather and Picket. And I’m excited to revisit them!
We are excited to read the newest book! We have been trying to reread them all in chronological order and are almost at the spot we need for the newest installment ( everyone is on pins and needles and have been snatching peeks at what happens next 😉). Can’t wait for the rest of the lost key adventure!
I love the new book! These stories give me so much hope to keep fighting for the true mended wood, and help remind me that there IS hope, even when fighting against what look like terrifying odds. It will not be so in the mended wood!

I’m excited to read the new Green Ember Lost Tales book because The Green Ember books are what have given me so much inspiration for writing my own books… I’ve read LOTR over and over but it still doesn’t have the warmth and joy that The Green Ember books do, and I look forward to returning to Natalia to see what trouble Heather, Picket, and Jo can get in and out of!!

My kids love all the Green Ember stories, we have listened many times to the audiobooks. These stories are not a read once and done for my kids, they request them over and over. So of course… we are very excited for a new set of stories to add to the world they have come to love. I appreciate the heart behind the stories as well as the stories that come through email to share the heart of the one making the stories that are influencing our children.
If you’re going to continue writing books I’m going to have to come up with a (less violent) way my kids can decide who gets to read them first 😂! Seriously though when they opened their “happy mail” I thought the poor book was going to be ripped to shreds as they fumbled to get to it first and declare themselves the victor. Thanks for such great books, we’ve even got dad reading them because we talked about them so much☺️

Hello! I am 12 years old, and I absolutely love your books! You are amazing at crafting stories that I can’t put down. My entire neighborhood is always waiting for your new releases. Besides your first “Green Ember” book, I think “Helmer in the Dragon Tomb” was your best one. Some of my mom’s friends even ask whether their child is old enough to read it, and I always tell them that no one is too young or too old for your books. In fact, I believe they are often better enjoyed when read aloud.
I haven’t purchased your newest book yet because I’m saving up for it, but I am so excited! I know it will become one of my favorite books. I plan to buy two copies and gift one to my friend, who is also really excited about it. Thank you for dedicating the time to put truth and bravery in your stories, while keeping them engaging. I reread them so many times and they never get old, the relationships between characters and the emotions you put into your books makes them seem alive and real! The cliffhanger of the Lost Key ( which is one of my favs.) has been making me to try and figure out what will happen next and I can’t wait to get the book to find out! (And being lactose Intolerant is no fun :P)
S.D.Smith is a legend his story’s are so well written and leave you on the edge of your seat waiting for more I can not wait to read your new book!

I am so excited to read this book, because I trust that will be good and heartwarming. I will get to see some of my favorite characters, with new witty, humorous dialogue, with new courageous feats…The morals that are embedded into these stories are not one-layered, and they are not relatively new…New story with an old soul. And even though sometimes your eyes or ears want to glaze over, if you really listen to what the characters say, and realize the symbolism of what they do, it makes one wiser, fills one with courage, and points one in the right direction in life, on the path of light… I trust these stories and I love to read more of these heartwarming tales.
(And to be honest the cover looks really cool too!)
My brother and I borrowed this book from a friend who bought it, so that we didn’t have to wait for it to come to the library. We both finished it within two days! I was excited to read it because I just did a read through of all the other green ember books, and I was ready to join my rabbit friends I had been enjoying on a new adventure! It prolonged the time I got to spend in Natalia, and I was grateful to uncover more about the Crystal Key! Thank you for these wonderful stories that speak to the heart! 📖✨

I am a 68-year-old grandmother who found the Green Ember book in one of our town book -sharing boxes. I read it and was blown away. As I read the first chapter I thought to myself that this really wasn’t the sort of book I would enjoy – but I pushed on and discovered an old woman can still be surprised. I asked for some of the other books in the series as a gift for Mother’s Day but that didn’t work out so well. My youngest daughter who just gave birth to a 4lb. 3 ounce baby girl 5 days ago despite some harrowing circumstances over the last 5 months, needed my help after suffering a fall that left her with a leg broken in 3 places resulting in a leg with a metal plate, 10 small screws and 2 three inch screws to put her back together all the while with child. So, grandma’s wish for other books has not been realized as yet. I can’t wait to get this new one and can’t wait to share them with baby Stormi even though I will have to wait a few years.
We have been reading through the Green Ember series as a family. I’m looking forward to adding The Lost Legend to our collection!

My son fell in love with heather and picket as a read aloud and audio book at 4 years old. He listened on repeat for months. It’s so fun to have new stories to hand him, now 10 and reading them for himself, about characters who have been friends for so long!
